ABOUT
We developed the work Bro.T. in and around the Kunstpavillon o.T. "Raum für space for contemporary art" in about 3 weeks. The starting point was old bread which we collected from people in the surrounding neighbourhood and invited them to the exhibition. We carbonised the old bread with a pyrolysis oven (wood gasification oven) and used the pieces of charcoal to blacken wooden panels. The exhibited bread charcoal plates were labelled with titles that indicated the former owners of the old bread. We used the heat generated by burning the old bread to put waste food into jars. The jars were opened as an aperitif at the vernissage and finissage. In the middle of the room, a Japanese Bokashi container was placed on a pedestal. We were interested in how to include local people and connect them with the arts.
